All About Bryan
UK9BG Club Member Spotlight: Bryan Campbell
Bryan has been immersed in the world of German Shepherds his entire life, developing a deep respect for the breed’s versatility, intelligence, and working ability. Over the years, he has dedicated countless hours to raising, handling, and training shepherds with a strong emphasis on clarity, and purpose. At Ultimate K9 Bodyguards, he trained his two German Shepherd brothers, Remy and Rhino, in civil and personal protection, with the goal of providing reliable protection for his wife, Melanie, and older daughter, Kasey, at their family home on the acreage. This period laid the foundation for Bryan’s understanding of real-world working dogs and the responsibility that comes with them.
It was during this time that PSA (Protection Sports Association) was introduced to Stan and several clients, opening the door to the sport side of protection work. As interest grew, the UK9BG PSA Club was formed, creating a community focused on developing dogs and handlers within a structured, competitive environment. Transitioning Remy and Rhino from their original protection training into PSA required a significant investment of time, patience, and problem-solving, as the dogs had to adapt to new rules, scenarios, and expectations. The process further shaped Bryan’s approach to training and reinforced the importance of solid foundations and clear communication.
Today, Bryan is applying everything he has learned while working with a new puppy, Vex. With Vex, the focus is on building a strong relationship and developing PSA-specific foundations from the very beginning, ensuring the dog is prepared both mentally and physically for the demands of the sport as it progresses.
Outside of dog training, Bryan is deeply involved in music and plays in several bands, finding creativity and balance through performing and writing. He also continues to train in Muay Thai, maintaining discipline and physical conditioning. His passion for the sport has become a shared experience with his youngest daughter, who has been training for several years; together, they continue to train side by side, strengthening both their skills and their bond.
